Chrysanthemum Day Celebration: Flower Circus Online Show

Chrysanthemum Day (Kiku no Sekku) is one of the five ancient sacred festivals of Japan. It is celebrated on the 9th day of the 9th month. It was started in 910, when the Japanese imperial court held its first chrysanthemum show. Chrysanthemums are the symbol of the Imperial House of Japan.

World's biggest Chrysanthemum breeder Deliflor Chrysanten wanted to celebrate this, and together with us, Flower Circus we organised an online flower show. Flower Magician Geertje Stienstra was responsible for the creative part of the show, and she sis an outstanding job!

In an hour Geertje made six different designs with Chrysanthemums. In her designs she showed how versatile this flower is. She made table arrangements, a wedding bouquet. For this she also used some of the new varieties of Deliflor, like Deligreen, Midnightsun and Baykal. Of course there was place for the famous Deliflor varieties like Baltica and Magnum.

When Geertje finished her arrangement, the all the locations of Deliflor worldwide wished everybody a happy Chrysanthemum Day. Not only the Deliflor companies from all over the world where in the show. We also had viewers worldwide!!! Let's hope this will be the start of a long tradition of Chrysanthemum shows on this special day.
