With temperatures reaching record highs and many florists taking a well-deserved holiday, we decided to embark on a Floral Getaway of our own. Our designs were inspired by popular vacation spots around the world. The featured designer for this show was Pascal Zijlmans, who had just returned from his holiday in France.

The first design was inspired by Scandinavia. More and more people are discovering the beautiful nature of these countries. In fact, our regular cameraman and co-host, Jhon Koopman, was traveling through Sweden during the show and was replaced by Chantalle.

The design's shape was a wreath made from Humulus branches. Pascal attached floral foam to the wreath where he wanted to place the flowers. He kept the design minimalistic with only a few types of flowers, which perfectly matched the natural look. He used Lisianthus from LUGT LISIANTHUS and santinis from ZENTOO, as well as some flowers from his own garden. He uses his garden frequently for his flower shop, as it provides unique natural materials and flowers that are sometimes hard to find at the flower auction.

For the second design, we traveled from Scandinavia to the City of Love: Paris. Here, we shifted from natural colors to bright reds and pinks. Pascal was inspired by the Moulin Rouge and used silk flowers as the base for his ring bouquet, bending the stems around a metal ring. He then added beautiful, unscented pink lilies from LOVE FOR LILIES. To make these colors pop even more, he incorporated green Lisianthus, which brought the bouquet to life.

After Paris, we moved to the other side of the world: The Great Barrier Reef. In a woven bamboo basket, Pascal placed dried pieces of coral (don't worry, it wasn't coral from the Great Barrier Reef!). The combination of the coral with various shades of pink created a truly wonderful arrangement. The Lisianthus 'Arosa Red' provided just the right amount of contrast to make it shine.

Our next stop was Morocco. The design started with interesting golden pots and used only green flowers. The key was working with different structures, since everything was green. When done right—like Pascal did—it transforms into an amazing design that would stand out in many interiors. The way Pascal arranged it makes it possible to sell the pots as a standalone piece or in groups, depending on the client's space and budget.

For the next design, we crossed the Mediterranean Sea to Italy. When Pascal thinks of Italy, he thinks of good food and drinks. This is why his yellow design was also decorated with lemons. For water containers, Pascal used bamboo and placed the flowers at different heights. The bamboo was also decorated with dried Helichrysum to brighten the base even more.

Next up was Ibiza. Pascal has noticed that more and more people coming into his shop for wedding decorations are requesting an Ibiza-style wedding. He showed how you can mix and match different vases of varying heights in a few simple steps. By using both whole stems and loose flowers of Cymbidium from CYMBIDIUM.INFO, you can create a consistent style throughout the entire wedding and even repurpose some pieces when moving from one place to another.

For the final design, we went to Greece, specifically Santorini. Pascal used two stunning white vases from his shop. Of course, he also used white and blue flowers, with Lisianthus 'Rosita White' and Alstroemeria for the white flowers, and Echinops for the blue. He finished the design by hanging some blue shells on the flowers.

In just over an hour we travelled to many different places where Pascal once again showed his endless creativity, and his way to transform it into commercial designs.
