From April 8 to 10, Flora Expo Astana celebrated its 10th anniversary, and this year, it was even more special as it joined forces with Grow Expo, which focuses on growers and greenhouse technology.

The event has been gaining popularity year after year, attracting an impressive mix of local companies and a growing number of participants from the Netherlands, South America, and Africa.

Before the fair kicked off, we hosted an exciting masterclass for florists, featuring our very own Morgan Douglas Nuth aka Austin Flowers.

This hands-on session, held in collaboration with Romantic, introduced florists to innovative techniques for creating stunning, commercially viable designs. Morgan showcased a blend of styles, which not only suited the local market perfectly but also made for great selling points! Alongside Morgan, John provided invaluable tips on running a flower shop more efficiently and profitably.

Day 1: A Buzzing Start

The first day of the fair was buzzing from the moment the doors opened! We welcomed a diverse crowd, including florists, wholesalers, importers, and curious consumers. With the talented Mark Frank at our stand, we drew extra attention by crafting beautiful flower arrangements from our partners. We also hosted a captivating demonstration on stage, where we created exquisite arrangements while sharing insights about our flowers and the importance of investing in quality. After all, buying cheap often ends up being more costly in the long run!

Day 2: More Opportunities to Connect

Day two began a bit quieter but quickly filled up by noon. This day provided us with the chance to engage with attendees we hadn't met on the first day due to the crowds. Many fair-goers stayed for two or three days to ensure they didn’t miss anything.

Day 3: Expanding Our Reach

On the final day, the atmosphere was more relaxed, allowing us to split our focus. We also participated in a demonstration at a nearby college, which attracted attention from both TV and print media—an excellent opportunity to promote our work both at the fair and beyond!

In the afternoon, we returned to the fair, and it was clear that word had spread about the flower fair. The hall was filled with eager consumers looking for blooms. Kazakhstan, much like Russia and Ukraine, has a deep-rooted love for flowers, a passion that was amplified by the arrival of spring. The beautiful weather motivated many to come out and explore the vibrant floral offerings.

Overall, Florexpo Astana 2025 was a fantastic event that showcased the beauty of flowers and the dedication of those in the industry. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this blooming fair! If you missed it this year, be sure to mark your calendars for next time. Happy flowering!
